If you enjoy magical realism, you will love Romina Garber’s newest book in the Wolves of No World series. The world-building was standout for me, and I also thoroughly enjoyed the witty narration from Captain Wyndham-and his prudent censorship of Haas’ colorful language-his adventures with the unpredictable Haas were always entertaining and kept me on my toes! Perfect for fans of historical fantasy! The book is filled with twists and turns, memorable characters, and an amazing blend of science fiction and fantasy. Set in a fantastical world of magic and mystery, the book follows the adventures of Captain John Wyndham, a retired soldier turned private investigator, as he attempts to solve a case for his eccentric and brilliant friend, Shaharazad Haas. This one reminded me of A Darker Shade of Magic meets Sherlock Holmes-olde world magic meets Victorian crime. The Affair of the Mysterious Letter by Alexis Hall offers a spin on the classic detective story. □ A Retelling (The Green Children of Woolpit) Sour Hall (At, We’re Flittin’) (The Dauntless Girl) Between Sea and Sky (The Great Silkie of Sule Skerry) The Panther’s Tale (Chillington House) The Tale of Kathleen (The Tale of Kathleen) by Emiear McBride Would highly recommend this to anyone who likes fae lore, mythical creatures, and fantasy ✨ A beautiful story of books and magic and love □✨❤️ Half-historical fiction/half-fantasy, □□□ □□□□□□□□□ □□□□ is a truly enchanting exploration into the power of love, loss, time, and literature. Their worlds collide and together they form a bond that time itself cannot break. She ultimately finds herself transported back to another time, and meets her favorite author, Nathaniel Hawthorne himself. In this □□□□□□□□ □□□□□□ inspired story, MC Mia falls in love with literature and becomes the hero of her own fairytale-saving herself by breaking away from the oppressive cult she was raised in. It did not disappoint! Lucky for me I was able to borrow the audiobook on Libby, but it’s definitely another that I want to add to my collection! I love her style of storytelling, and this was one of my most anticipated books of the year.
